Jungle Rain

I am a first-time tarp owner so maybe I'm being a bit free with my stars but I've had some great night sleeps until my 10x13 guide. I had it setup like an A frame for 3 days of intense Vancouver Island rain (47mm overnight) and I was cozy and dry. It sounded like bullets. This size can easily be setup as a tent for 2 as well. I would highly recommend.

I bought this for car-camping with my wife & 3yr

I bought this for car-camping with my wife, my 3yr old and my 1 yr old. The primary purpose for purchasing this tarp is to protect items outside of our '89 VW westy from the rain when we climb inside to go to sleep. This tarp has met my expectations, which is amazing (for it is a darn pricey tarp, so my expectations were very high given the cost).

I have a backpacking background, I use to do Search and Rescue in which we would would do wilderness training every 3rd weekend. This is an excellent addition to a pack for minimalist backwoods hiking, it folds down very small, and I really like the integrated webbing for easy staking and the webbing in the center for easy attachment to a higher point (making a sloped cover).

I cannot speak to it's durability, for mine has had minimal use and what usage it has had hasn't (did I use enough "has'" there?) been harsh. What comforts me on this particular tarp is that when I fold it up, it traps air that takes a moment to disperse (like 3 seconds max). I like this, because it informs me that the tarp has a great "seal" for not allowing air to quickly escape boosting my confidence in it's ability to repel water.

Met my expectations

First of let me state that for me to give 5 stars a product must go above and beyond my expectation. That being said this item has met my expectations. This tarp is very light and packs down well. Great for hammocks as it allows for enough covering in case of inclement weather but not so much that you are unable to feel too enclosed. Enough tie out points, however this suggestion goes more for all tarps as this is a problem I personally am concerned with, is that there should be another reinforced section that runs down the long way of the tarp for those who want to set up a ridge line this way and not worrying about damaging the tarp.

I just got this tarp in the mail. Typical Aqua Quest quality. Light and compact with 17 welI-sewn loops - NO grommets. This tarp can be used to provide great cover for a hammock in a diamond pitch. It also can be used as a tarp on the ground in a variety of configurations. This has the best waterproofing in the business - 20,000 mm of hydrostatic pressure. What does that mean? This fabric will hold the pressure of 20 m or slightly more than 20 yards of water! Most tarps provide coatings with only 1000 to 2000 mm. You cannot beat the rain protection for the weight.

I was torn between a tarp and a tent. This Tarp is so large I can fold it to resemble a tent. Very light. Very happy with this tarp.
