Guide Ultralight Tarp

This is a top quality product! After having used a very heavy 16mil tarp for camping, this thing is a godsend. It is very light, durable and keeps the water out. We bought this primarily to have as a shade screen and to keep our picnic table dry for camping (car camping that is) and it works perfectly. There are very secure nylon webbing tabs all around the perimeter and one in the center. There are no grommets to tear out. It also comes with these very nice nylon straps that are """"Y""""-shaped with a buckle in the center and several good stakes. This allows two points to secure a single tab. With all the nylon tabs and straps, this tarp can be set up in a multitude of configurations. With some paracord for a ridgeline or two and some Prusik knots from #36 tarred twine I've had this set up beautifully several times now.

I bought this for car-camping with my wife, my 3yr old and my 1 yr old. The primary purpose for purchasing this tarp is to protect items outside of our '89 VW westy from the rain when we climb inside to go to sleep. This tarp has met my expectations, which is amazing (for it is a darn pricey tarp, so my expectations were very high given the cost).

I have a backpacking background, I use to do Search and Rescue in which we would would do wilderness training every 3rd weekend. This is an excellent addition to a pack for minimalist backwoods hiking, it folds down very small, and I really like the integrated webbing for easy staking and the webbing in the center for easy attachment to a higher point (making a sloped cover).

I cannot speak to it's durability, for mine has had minimal use and what usage it has had hasn't (did I use enough """"has'"""" there?) been harsh. What comforts me on this particular tarp is that when I fold it up, it traps air that takes a moment to disperse (like 3 seconds max). I like this, because it informs me that the tarp has a great """"seal"""" for not allowing air to quickly escape boosting my confidence in it's ability to repel water.

Successfully used these as patrol tarps for scouts on multi-day backpacking trips. So far so good. They have held up amazingly well in the hands of scouts, who tend to be hard on gear. Cannot beat the price for a tarp this light.

I'm writing this from under one now. I've had this strung up for 2 weeks in Fort Polk, LA. We've had violent storms for 9 days. This tarp is still taut and every thing under it is dry. Perfect for me, lightweight, tough and dependable. Thinking of buying another one to fit all the moochers who seek my shelter every storm. Smaller and lighter than an Army poncho and covers twice the area. Just wish it had a woodland pattern camo

This tarp is all that it's advertised to be. I needed an absolutely waterproof, light-weight tarp to cover the cushions of new outdoor furniture. The 1st day my new furniture was setup, we had a rockin' thunderstorm with a strong downpour of rain. I was concerned that the water would soak through the tarp, which was sitting directly on the cushions and pillows (not suspended above it, as would be the case for camping.) After the rain, I noted the water had rolled off the tarp, leaving it barely damp, and my furniture was dry as a bone! Perfect! With today's 'deep seating' collections prevelant in outdoor furniture designs, I needed a solution for midwest weather condtions (other than a big, bulky, cheap-looking plastic box sitting on my deck.) This is it! Compared to plastic or vinyl tarps available at big box stores, this is easy to handle, small to store, has plenty of grommet holes and loops for securing it, and won't crack or split in the hot sun. It also keeps the cushions from fading! I consider it the best investment I've made for my outdoor furniture, and I'm thrilled with it.
