I've taken this hiking through all sorts of conditions to keep my camera gear nice and dry and it works like a charm. I also have dropped it into the lake fully immersed and not a drop of water inside. I love it. Plus it's camo so i look super hardcore. Also, I would suggest storing it open because if you don't it smells funny because there's no oxygen getting to the inside and it holds in all the smells of the place you were last at. Or, in my case, the smell of your gym clothes you last had in there. And it was gross. But that was my fault. Don't blame the bag, it did nothing wrong.
I mainly wanted to protect gear in the Zodiak boats getting to shore from the ship, and while tooling around icebergs etc. This bag is light, large, and completely waterproof.
Lightweight and durable, and waterproof.I've been in torrents and nothing got wet, however I have not tried to submerge it. If I did, I think things would still remain dry.Update: I've had it for 1.5 years, with regular use.Still love it!Still in great shape! However I, recently carried it with excessive weight on one shoulder which gave it unfair weight stress and a I slightly ripped a seam near the upper part of a shoulder strap. It appears repairable.Moral: Don't carry excessive weight with one shoulder.
Took this bag on a trip to Central America -- very glad to have had it!Bag 'fit in' well in Central America; was not flashy or expensive-looking and did not garner too much attention. Once objects are placed in the bag and sealed, the bag looks slightly different than the pictures on the product page -- it doesn't look all puffed out like a cloud but looks more like a regular backpack. Strictly based on the appearance of the bag, it didn't look like it would have held up well.. However, it did and I was very glad! Unlike the other dry-bag from Aqua-Quest that I have (Mariner 10L), the thickness of the bag is significantly thinner. Upon receipt, I was afraid that the bag would tear quickly but this did not happen (yet). Had no problem with the backpack straps -- was initially worried about these as well. The ability for the backpack to fold itself into the pouch was a great feature
Worked well for kayaking and hiking in Patagonia. Zipper pull on outer pocket broke but still usable. To be fair I was sliding around on rocks and ice...
