Completely and utterly waterproof; very strong, durable material. I learned you can fold over the flap and latch it together around the bag so it looks smaller and is easier to carry, or to carry it like a tote. This bag is perfect. Would highly recommend.

This is a great backpack for keeping everything dry.
This is a great backpack for keeping everything dry. Took this for a 2 week trip to Costa Rica and it kept everything, including my camera nice and dry while hiking in down pouring rain. It's very lightweight. It folds flat so easily fits into a suitcase or other bag. You can easily adjust the fit once you've got it on. The only tricky thing is that when you take it off, you've got to loosen the straps before you can easily get things out of the bag, but that's just being picky. Overall I highly recommend this backpack for hiking in the rain and keeping the important stuff dry.
